New visions on negotiation models between Retail and Industry need to be developed.

Before joining EMD in 2009, Philippe Gruyters spent his entire career with the German discount chain Aldi, where he held senior management positions in Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Poland. He studied Commercial Engineer at the Solvay Institute of the University of Brussels. At the event, I could speak about the changes in the relationships between retail and industry in the past few years. - Growth of the Private Label business - Aldi & Lidl started to list A-Brands; Aldi & Lidl now also do promotions on A-Brands - Consequences of the growth of online business on traditional retail - Growing importance of compliance (sustainability, social responsibility, product safety..) - Private vs public owned companies And some of my ideas on how retailers and industry could improve their relationships and avoid conflicts. New visions on negotiation models between Retail and Industry need to be developed.
